Emeline Delsaut

Emeline Delsaut’s photography is pictorial because she studied art at university for many years. She is passionate about the great painters … who have inspired her entire life thus allowing her eye to be trained to that.

Art is the best of man, creativity at the service of thought … the emulation of ideas that revive our senses, there is nothing more noble and she has a lot of respect for that. She loves colors, they highlight life in all its light, as much as black and white is timeless. She works the two domains because each one serves its function. She likes aesthetic mastery that requires a lot of precision. Playing with the codes of fashion allows her the eccentricities necessary to serve her purpose and she loves it.

What’s happening around the world is more than just a tragedy – it’s astonishing. Black people are being killed by the hands of law enforcement officers, and yet, our voices still have not been heard. Stop Gun is a symbol of this point in history, where killing is somehow equated to freedom. This is a nod to American heroism, where violence is actually denounced and the use of weapons to kill is de-escalated.

The mask of joy should evoke happiness, pleasure, and of course, joy – and yet, we hide behind it. Our culture hides behind the beauty of our own heritage, because silence soon takes over. The weight of silence in families and in villages represent all that goes unsaid with African heritage and culture. We’ve been silenced for far too long – and it’s time for us to showcase who we are.

Art is nothing but a mere rewriting of history – a permanent revision on what’s been said, heard, and done before. Les Demoiselle Au Galion is the perfect example of this beautiful phenomenon. Inspired by Pablo Picasso’s Les Demoiselle d’Avignon, this revisioning of art history brings our AfriKin culture into the mix, highlighting the inextricable quest for identity.

This beautiful fine art photography print is carefully printed and mounted on aluminum, giving you a stunning piece of wall art to celebrate your heritage.
